Troy Dorsey of Mansfield, Texas will go down in history as being the only man to be a top ranked “point karate” fighter in his home state of Texas. The ISKA Full Contact Karate Champion and the World Boxing Champion from the IBF and the NABF. Mr. Dorsey grew up in the Dallas area and climbed the ranks of full contact karate to become the ISKA World Champion.

After arriving and holding the title for numerous years Troy looked around for something else. Boxing was the challenge. Pushed on by finances and fame Mr. Dorsey soon was ranked in the top five in his weight class. His two fights with Jorge Paez on national television are “absolute classics”; both fights are compared to the matches of Mohammed Ali and Joe Frazier. Today Troy is married with two children and owns/operates a successful martial arts school. He has a full day teaching and is retired from boxing and full contact karate. He still enjoys working out and watching his students “learn” in competition whether full contact karate or “point karate”.

Mr. Dorsey was invited to look at the AYSMA by Mr. Blackledge in the hopes Troy would see an avenue to lend his “clout” when entertaining potential sponsors. Mr. Dorsey has agreed and the AYSMA is stronger for as a result of Mr. Dorsey’s involvement. In the highly competitive world of finding sponsors having the World Karate Champion that gave it up to pursue a boxing career only to become the World Boxing Champion carries a lot of weight.

Troy looks forward to good days with his wife and children; healthy business and being involved in helping our talented Black Belt Level children get the college education they deserve.
